Jealous monkey acrobatically tries to attack a man at the zoo

Is this real?! It almost seems too awesome and hilarious. I sure hope it is…

From the uploader…

This is at the cafe inside the Memphis Zoo. The manager of the cafe told me that the alpha male monkey noticed me the second I walked in the door and started going crazy, because, as the alpha male, he feels threatened by tall males. So she told me to go stand by the window and turn my back on him and that he would “attack” me…

And attack he did…

(Thanks, Price!)

That guy would have been done for if that glass wasn’t there.

  5. The Gibbon says:

Yeah, I’m a Gibbon. Calling me a monkey is kind of insulting. Get on the phone with your local Zoologist immediately.

Haha, yes this is definitely real. This is my cousin Nathan’s video. Cut the guy some slack, he didn’t spend years getting his doctorate as a pharmacist to learn the different monkey, ape, orangoutang, gorilla, gibbon, WHATEVER species. He was just posting this to show us on facebook and it went viral. Pretty freakin hilarious stuff!

If it weren’t for the pedants of the world we would still be calling dolphins fish. Of course they are the same people who got Pluto kicked out of the solar system over a technicality. A rather jerky thing to do.

This is real and translates across most primate groups. Something interesting to do at the zoo is have someone in the party stand with their back to the gorillas. The alpha male can’t stand it and will eventually lose it. The keepers generally distract the gorilla when he gets too aggressive. Food always trumps threats to his superiority.
