Young ladies’ new friends are cute but unsavory

I’m not sure these girls’ parents would want them running with this crowd…

Is it just me or are two of those skunks IDENTICAL? Like… copy/pasted identical. The one between the girls is the same one in the middle of the 3 approaching… That’s weird.
It’s still really cute, though. :)

Lets take these home and put them in our brothers draw

Wow, they’re so small! I’ve never seen a skunk in real life :P

Baby skunks, for a time when young, are unable to spray. That capability comes later, which probably makes the next a bit nicer while they are little. When I was a girl, one of our neighbors picked up an orphan baby from a mother that got hit by a car. Eventually it became a problem…sigh. But for a while it was the sweetest little pet ever. Used a little box like a cat. Apparently they can be descented by a vet, but they didn’t time it correctly and Pepe LaPew sprayed in their mom’s bedroom the first time – after that it was not welcome in the house anymore.

Wondering where skunk mom was to let these girls so near her kits? Very cute pic though!

Doesn’t look at all like a cut & paste to me…. go to the “original” post & enlarge the photo. The supposedly clone in the middle of three is fatter & the grass fits up around it differently. It actually looks like the girls are rescuing the kits from a flooded area… there is another across the water from them & what looks like another in the water…. (or maybe drowned mama?)….. Cute, but watch out when those kits grow up a bit! PEEEEUUUUUU!

Shopped. Look at the skunk on the ground between the two girls, and the middle one to their right. Identical stripe, tail… same animal.

We have a small farm with horses. A mother skunk moved into the barn this spring -she dug out her den under the concrete of the tack room floor. She comes out every evening about 8:30 after the horses have gone back out and if I’m quiet, she snuffles about for a bit then goes on out to find dinner. She has never threatened me, much less sprayed and we have not seen a single rat or mouse in the barn since she arrived. :D She is the cutest thing ever and I sort of wish she would stay but i think she and the kits will leave when they get bigger.
