Does liking marijuana make you a bad person?
The first billboards in support of Colorado’s Amendment 64 are now up in Denver…

In response to the lady’s question — Does prefering marijuana over alcohol make you a bad person? — the answer is, Of course it doesn’t… It just means you have bad taste.
Kidding, kidding… Calm down.

Does not liking marijuana make you a good person??
No. Imo, having a preference for drugs/no drugs/soft drugs/alcohol has nothing to do with whether you are a “bad” or “good” person.
Doctors are at the highest risk for drug abuse, their not bad but who are we to judge
“For many reasons, I prefer…
Abortion over having responsibility.
Does that make me a bad person?”
How about that for a pro-choice billboard?
This is the best they could come up with? Nice.
i think you got this whole thing backwards there bub
true – it should read “I am a bad person. Does that make me like marijuana more than alcohol?”
I’m wondering if that lady really does prefer marijuana, or if that’s stock photography?
hahaha that would be amazing. literally lol’d on that one. thanks.
My uncle has done marijuana all his life…now he thinks he’s a prophet. “Bless you, my child”, as he says.
for various reasons.. i decline to do either. let’s prohibit both.
and yes it does make you a bad person. sober the eff up!
since prohibiting alcohol has worked so well in the past….
i bet that bud light advert sign is moved because they don’t want the negative pub. but judging from those who are REALLY for marijuana use i am not thinking that this demographic is concerning those bud light corporate fat cats. and yes i am stereotyping because that is what advertising is all about.
Prohibition failed in the 20′s, and this new prohibition on drugs is equally moronic and naive. People who want to do drugs will still find a way, every time. Gangsters like Al Capone made it big BECAUSE of prohibition!
Making these things illegal only encourages crime as it gives low-life’s a great way to make money from the desperate. Isn’t the majority of gang warfare based on ‘turf wars’ over who gets to supply an area? If the government REALLY wanted to control the situation, they would actually control it! Not by denying it happens, but by legalising, heavily regulating and taxing those drugs.
Of course, that is more of an issue with harder drugs. Weed is not where the money is…
I am pro legalisation for many more reasons but I’m sure you’ve heard them all before and I’m not in the mood to write an essay =]
Legalizing, heavily regulating, and taxing drugs would simply mean that now it would be the government profiting off the desperate, much like the lottery.
I’m not sure that’s an improvement. I’m not responsible for what some drug dealer in Camden does, but I am sorta responsible for what my government does in my name, and I would prefer that they stop exploiting the desperate for profit, not increase their capability to do so.
I actually agree with you, and I hadn’t thought about it from that angle :)
But surely, in a perfect world, that money isn’t just going to the politicians as profit? Would the tax not be going towards better medical care, schooling and everything else that tax pays for?
Take the recent debate about the new ‘pasty tax’, (you mentioned Camden so I’m going to just assume you’re British, though there are probably many Camdens in America as well). Of course, most people were up in arms over yet another new tax, but others believed that the tax should go directly back into the NHS to help deal with all of the health issues that these people will inevitably face from eating such food!
*glassy eyes* Duuuuude, marijuana has, like …. *pause* … NO side effects …. *pause, slow blink* … at ALL, dude.
So at what point do we just go for government sactioned soma distribution? Brave New World, here we come!!!
What’s with introducing a new recreational carcinogenic? It won’t make you a bad person but it will make you a dumber sicker person. Go outside, run, swim, have you heard of river swimming? It’s a raging sport in the UK, that’s a happier healthier high!
That happy healthy high your describing is created by the bodies own cannabinoids. Marijuana use by motivated people can assist an exercise routine.
“Recent findings show that exercise increases serum concentrations of endocannabinoids, a result suggestive of a new possible explanation for a number of these changes. The cannabinoids produce psychological states that closely parallel several experiences described as being related to the runner’s high. Compared with the opioid analgesics, the analgesia produced by the endocannabinoid system is more consistent with exercise induced analgesia. Activation of the endocannabinoid system also produces sedation, anxiolysis, a sense of wellbeing, reduced attentional capacity, impaired working memory ability, and difficulty in time estimation. This behavioural profile is similar to the psychological experiences reported by long distance runners.” ~ From Endocannabinoids and Exercise / Br J Sports Med. 2004 October
I think you need to do some research on the carcinogenic statement. Cannabinoids are being used to fight cancer. I was disabled for 5 years. No matter what pharmaceutical the doctors tried, no matter what diet, no matter what physical therapy I underwent, I did not get better until I began eating cannabis. I am now, once again a functioning member of the workforce. Thank you Cannabis.
Well said Eva Lee, and congratulations on your recovery :)
Cannabis is only a carcinogen when smoked… as any burning plant would be when inhaled! There are many other ways of taking it.
That being said, I do smoke… for recreation, not health needs ;)
