Poor Michael Jordan, it’s so hard to be you

I can’t say that I’d ever pitied Michael Jordan till I saw this clip…

Hahaha I have never seen this commercial before. I love it!

  2. Courtney says:

    Poor thing.

  3. Good commercial, but Mike Judge did this same gag (only about Michael Bolton) 13 years ago.

      Came here to say this.

      • Carr says:

        1) Nobody asked if he was related to *the* Michael Jordan.

        2) Nobody asked how many games of Jordan’s this guy had seen or how big of a fan he was.

        3) Everyone was disappointed to find out that he was not *the* Michael Jordan. (Whereas in Office Space, everyone was tickled so much to find out that Michael was Michael Bolton.)

        4) Leading from #3, this guy gets worse treatment because he isn’t *the* Michael Jordan while in Office Space, he gets better treatment because of his name (until he tells them that they can just call him Mike).

Similar but not at all the same comedic element. Also, Mike Judge wasn’t the first one to come up with the same name gag either.

Why did I type all this? *shrug* Happy tax day.

    Poor guy :(

I had a high school student named Michael Jordan. He was stopped by police for speeding or something and when asked his name, he replied “Michael Jordan.” The officer accused him of sarcasm and then decided that his ID *must* be fake. A night in jail got all of it straightened out–that he was, indeed, Michael Jordan.

So yeah, Michael Jordan may not be the best name to have.

Isn’t it too bad that people can’t treat everyone with the same respect they would give a pro athlete. That’s the real disappointment.

  7. I played college ball with a Michael Jordan. His nickname was “Lumpy,” so you can imagine what kind of physical specimen he was like, compared to the “real” Michael Jordan.
