That would be the last time my kid would borrow my truck. I don’t see him paying the car payments, insurance and upkeep on his Dad’s truck, so maybe he ought to STFU and say “thanks Dad, for letting me borrow your truck and sponge off you.”
TYPICAL confused goper filled with hate and resentment…. You ASSume that he did not thank his dad, and also ASSume that he is not helping with car/insurance payments.
You could have assumed he was going to his JOB…but you want to ASSume the worst….and make judgements based on your own un-informed hatred and insecurities.
Is your kid required to advertise your political views while driving your truck? And it many not be a kid, you know; it may be an adult borrowing his or her dad’s truck. Maybe even to do errands for the dad? In any case, the son or daughter’s temporary disclaimer sign displays no anger or vitriol; it simply states a fact. BTW, how would you feel borrowing and driving a vehicle with “Recall Walker” and “Vote for Barrett” and “Union – Yes!” stickers? No problem?
And I agree with “Name (Required)” than there’s no evidence for any of your assumptions about the kid, though I don’t like “Required’s” tone in that and his/her followup comment.
Why, yes, my child is required to obey my rules and heed my views while in my care. Call it brainwashing all you want, but I’m the one responsible for raising my child and I am the one who trains my child up in the way he should go. To put that sign on my vehicle would be very disrespectful. It would also demonstrate that somewhere along the line I failed in something if he feels the need to in any way support those nasty, evil union jackbooted thugs, or the idiots in this country who somehow feel there is anything good in those despicable, pathetic unions.
Oh, don’t worry, your words show quite plainly that you have already failed.
Well said Kevin.
Wow, Sure am glad that you’re not my dad. We have different political views but he doesn’t mind because it means I’m thinking critically and evaluating the evidence. Brainwashing is no better than forcing and thats not how politics, religion, or anything else would work. You raise your child to be a good member of society but I hate to break it to you, you can’t force them to believe what you want.
Marci, Kevin, and Ellen, you are all SO SUPERIOR to us in your opinions of child rearing. It gives me goose pimples.
Typical hateful GOP! I tweeted this PIC & added this comment “I have to admit this sell-out GOP father raised an Amazing son or daughter!”
Worse, she assumes that “Dad” is a humorless boor. How bereft of joy would one’s life have to be that he was unable to appreciate this joke?
Exactly! Look, I’m 100% behind the recall of Walker. Cannot WAIT to cast my vote against him tomorrow. My son (kids will be rebellious :-) ) started out agin’ him but has changed his mind and does not now support the recall. No bumper stickers on our cars, but if there were, I could handle it if he put up a disclaimer (if it were as polite as the one pictured above)on my car when he drove it.
More important, we’re living together with love, mutual respect, and humor in spite of our difference of opinion on this.
Wow! How does this warrant such a hostile response?? I feel sorry for you AND for your kid.
Needs another ‘sticker’….. Also, my dad is an ignorant idiot that likes to blame this countries problems on unions and acorn. Or in other words…he is a sad brainwashed FOOL.
Your level-headed rationale certainly improves your point. I sure hope that my son will talk about me like that someday. We have such dreams for our children, you know?
Awww how nice more faux viewers with faux outrage!
And ur children have dreams too! Like for you to turn off faux news and think for yourself for once! Uknow!?
I don’t watch Fox. (Hey, look, I can spell! Yippee!) I think it’s pretty funny how much anger you have at someone whom you couldn’t even begin to guess their political leanings, let alone from where they are derived.
The fact that you use the hyperactive, rhetorical, and demeaning meme-term of “faux news” simply shows that you are just as susceptible to programming as those over whom you show so much moral and intellectual superiority.
Again, I can certainly tell that you have a good, level head on your shoulders. Your debate points are startling as well as insightful, and your retorts show a deft skill well beyond what anyone else could hope to achieve. I applaud you and your Olympic-level, acrobatic mind. You, sir, are a philosophical god meant to rule over your neanderthal father and his ilk (ie anyone else who does not agree with you or your style).
a score for Carr!
You may be able to spell, Carr. But your grammar is a bit… funky..
“it’s pretty funny how much anger you have at someone whom you couldn’t even begin to guess their political leanings”
NB: I hate to be a grammar Nazi, but if you’re gonna take the piss out of someone’s spelling — even if it is an ironic piss-take of an ironic spelling — you’ve got to get EVERYTHING right in your follow-up post.
Plus, what kind of a neanderthal names their kid “Name Required”?!
Maybe the kid was trying to keep her dad’s truck from being keyed (at least while she was responsible for it)?
Do you people ever laugh? >>
haha! my thoughts exactly.
Couldn’t agree more. Seems like every post is required to have someone blow it out of proportion. Life is too short to be so dang serious about stuff.
BUT THIS IS ON THE INTERNET AND IS TOTALLY SRS BSNS PPLZ!!!!!!!!!1111!1ONEONEONEONEoneoneoneonetildeoneoneoneoneonetwo
NOW, MY OBLIGATORY RANT ABOUT POLITICS, FREE WILL, CHILDREN, AND RESPECT. OH NO, I SAW A POST 3 SECONDS LATER THAT CONFLICTED WITH MY OWN. NOW I’M GOING TO REPLY TO IT AND USE MORONIC LOGIC THAT COUNTERS ANY POINT I MADE IN MY ORIGINAL POINT. FINALLY, I’M GOING TO RESULT TO CHILDISH INSULTS AGAINST PEOPLE WHO HAVE VIEWS THAT DIFFER FROM MY OWN!
If you’re not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you’re not a conservative at forty you have no brain.
And if you can’t think for yourself and substitute others’ opinions for your own, you’re a tool.
Churchill spoke long before the American political party that has traditionally been called “conservative” went completely off its rocker in recent years. His words, however insightful, simply can’t apply where our current Republicans claim (unworthily) to own the label “conservative.”
I always look forward to religious and political posts here. People get so up in arms! It’s absolutely hilarious. It’s like people can’t handle the idea of someone disagreeing with them. Pretty good fun actually!
Walker has about 61 percent of the vote to 39 percent Barrett.
Guess he didn’t need you to stand with him…
(We'll never share your info)
