    I’m sure you mean “population density” rather than “population size”, otherwise the US would be MUCH bigger (as it’s population is well over 10x that of England, and yet on this map it’s about 5x)

      Zoom in on the map. It’s built by using square units on a graph sheet to represent a unit of population (1 million each in this case). According to the map, the US has a population of 296m and the UK 60m, so roughly about 5 times the population size. Good eye on that by the way. ;)
