Unflattering portraits will chip away at your positive self-image

Reverend Aitor of The Misanthrope Specialty Company has an ongoing series of drawings in which he grossly exaggerates the flaws in the physiognomies of his brave subjects. They’re like your ordinary cartoonish caricatures, but uglier and much more likely to diminish your self-esteem.

No laugh line is too deep; no blackhead too small. Embrace your cold sore, under-eye baggage and bot fly cysts. They are a part of who you are and shouldn’t be glossed over or ignored.

There are about 250 more on Flickr.

Most of these don’t even look like their subjects.

What’s the point? What do you do with such a thing after you have it? Give it to your ex to make them feel better??

I am going to make all of my girlfriends get one of these portraits. Sure they look hot at first, but eventually they are going to look just like that portrait and I need to know if I am able to live with that or not.
