Same is true of singers who think they can automatically act, actors who think they can write books, singers/actors/etc who design clothes, sell their own perfume line, etc…..when is enough money ENOUGH for these celebrities??!!!
I always thought this must drive actors and actresses who spent years training and working their way up the ranks absolutely mad. Nowadays TV has taught us that nearly anyone can become famous through reality TV, and most of these then aspire to go into acting or singing or both, with mostly mediocre results, unsurprisingly.
Then there’s the Kristen Stewarts of today: staring in a popular filmmakes you instantly desirable, regardless of your actual talents. She might be OK (this is nothing personal) but I do feel sorry for all the ladies out there working much harder to explore what acting is, and who may never be ‘discovered’ or star in anything nearly as big as whatever Stewart may do, simply because studios hire her hoping to cash in on the Twilight craze.
Don’t get me wrong, I fully believe you can also get break-out talents, the rare breed who fall into acting but are so natural they quickly immerse themselves and learn as they go along. I’m not saying we should be snobbish and impose rules as to who should and shouldn’t be allowed to act, but we can certainly empathise with someone who has the training getting frustrated that someone with a big name gets picked instead.
When it comes to the untrained, untested, and the ‘celebrities’, I’m not saying that anyone shouldn’t have aspirations, hell anyone is entitled to try and see, and if some reality TV star actually does have some talent in acting, I’ll take off my hat to them and admit it. But that it’s only fair for them, for all these aspiring artistes, to actually respect the crafts they choose to enter. Because if they don’t, why should we?
I thoroughly enjoyed this.

Exactly how I felt about having coaches for “teachers” in High School.
Joel FTW!!!
This is why Gary Oldman is a god.
All I can think of when watching this is how much he looks like Littlefinger from Game of Thrones.
