How to send dead animals through the mail, 1930′s

In the 1930′s, London’s postal regulations allowed for game such as the rabbits and birds in this 1938 photograph to be sent by mail with just a tag on the neck as long as “no liquid is likely to exude”…

      I would hate to think Grandma’s cookies were shipped alongside the dead, rotting corpse of anything in the mail truck!
