The fourth one made me think of Gandalf.
This may be my favorite post yet. Not sure why, I just love it.
This was quite possibly the most boring post ever.
I agree, and I’m a photographer.
Pantone® is colour represented by alphanumeric code which makes it possible for people to appropriate colours to digital media.
Her blog says:
“The project development is based on a series of portraits whose background is dyed with the exact Pantone® tone extracted from a sample of 11×11 pixels of the portrayed’s face. The project’s objective is to record and catalog all possible human skin tones.”
“The project’s objective is to record and catalog all possible human skin tones.”
This is a science project – not art. And a boring science project as well that could be quickly done digitally and not through the use of static, emotionless portraits.
Well boring it might be for those who don’t care to know how images appear on their computer screen, but it’s particularly useful for digital artists.
Most people who view this site expect every post to blow their mind by now and are hugely disappointed when it doesn’t.
OMG RACISS!!1!
I have to say, as an artist, who does a lot of portraits, this is incredibly useful and interesting that somebody did this! Way cool ^_^
Cool!
This is nice! Are there any asians in there? Japs maybe.
I’ll have to show my 6yo. Every time she draws a picture of a person, or colors a coloring book, she chooses yellow for the skin tone. Like we’re all muppets. Haha
I have to say, that this is a rather interesting post. I really like it and it’s not only science, but also art of it’s own.
I agree! I think this post is really great and interesting.
What a cool way to illustrate the diversity of humanity.
