Tunisian woman’s swimsuit

From MSNBC…
A Tunisian woman bathes with a child on the beach in la Goulette city on Wednesday in Tunis, as temperatures reach over 110 degrees. Women and girls who used to swim in bikinis are scarce, fearing possible attacks by organized religious extremists.

The usual NSFW warning would have been nice. Sheesh!
Sheesh!….kebab?
Do you work for religious extremists? Not sure what’s so NSFW about this.
He was joking.
I like it; it’s cute. Aren’t stripes in style right now?
Saw something similar at our local “beach” here. Long sleeved dress with leggings, all black on a day it was 103 here. No head scarf though. I think the comment below about women wearing bikinis, since this woman is obviously pregnant, is pretty ironic! PLEASE ladies, no one wants to see your pregnant belly in a bikini, no matter what you think.
Some people like pregnant bellies. :)
Thank you Neil, for being civil in your response and not so hateful as commentors below. It is my opinion, that’s all.
Wow, maybe some pregnant women don’t give a shit what everyone else wants to see? Personally, I go to the beach to swim and have fun, not to be a decoration.
and that is why you have the ability to turn your head and choose what to look at.
if you dont like it, dont look at it.
a pregnant woman who wants to wear a bikini at the beach/pool will do so regardless of what you think about her pregnant belly showing. nobody cares, grow up.
That’s not irony.
Also, I have something to share with you. Please sit down and make sure you’re in a safe place, because this is going to blow your mind: There is a tiny chance that maybe a handful of women on this planet might actually wear something because THEY like it, or because it’s comfortable or practical for whatever activity they are engaging in. There is a small chance…again, please make sure you’re seated…that we might, on occasion, make a decision related to our appearance that has nothing to do with you or what you think. A decision that is perhaps not solely based on us arranging our appearance in such a way as to make it appealing to you, random stranger.
I’ll wait until another post to explain to you that your personal aesthetic preferences are not universal and that some people might find pregnant bellies quite beautiful. I don’t want to overwhelm you with too much reality in one post.
Every single woman on the planet dresses
a) to impress their girlfriends
b) to impress other women in general
c) to impress guys
d) for comfort (physical or emotional)
e) and last, to impress their significant other
Yes, in that order.
This is undeniable.
Ridiculous. I can guarantee that many women dress for comfort, and i’d like to see your proof if your stupid claim is so undeniable.
I agree with Hannah. I dress for comfort. I have severe eczema (and when I mean severe, I mean *SEVERE*) and wear things that are modest and keep my skin from flaring up.
I will never understand why women wear things that are so uncomfortable (high heeled pinched-toe shoes, tight clothing, etc.). It makes no sense to me. Now, that doesn’t mean I dress like slob, but I don’t wear things that are uncomfortable just for the sake of impressing people.
I love that you posted this! I’m an American living in North Africa, and this picture is the most normal thing ever. It made me laugh to see it posted as something unusual (which I know it is, in America).
Me too!
110 degrees crazy, just crazy. Organize religion, the bane of society everywhere.
Saw one woman ‘similarly covered’ at WI Dells in May… Her suit was not as colorful, nor curve accentuating…
Geez, that is a lot of hate about my comment. Sorry, I’ll revise. I don’t want to see your pregnant belly. I find that is something personal and should not be shared by the viewing public. AGAIN, my opinion, so hate if you wish. I don’t need to grow up, because voicing my opinion has nothing to do with growing up.
I would love to have a swimsuit like this. I’m very fair-skinned and burn easily. The fabric used is light and breathes well so it isn’t as hot as jeans are. Also, I have some nasty scarring on my lower legs which no one needs to see.
I’m an apatheist, so religion and someone else’s views of “modesty” aren’t a factor in my thinking.
