Well, this is odd — A dashcam video showing something nice happening

Usually, when we see a dashcam video online, it’s because it features gore, violence, or near misses of gore or violence. Not in this case, though…

Nice.. Must be in the South somewhere…

    • South Russia, maybe… :)

    • George says:

Screw you man, the south does not have a monopoly on kindness! In fact every time I’ve been to the south the people have proven extremely rude compared to my home state of Montana.

      • Nelbert says:

I think you’re losing the argument here. Yelling “screw you” sort of hurts your claim to kindness.

    • Susan says:

look at the licence plate. My guess is a county in Europe. There are kind awesome people all over this world. unfortunately, we usually only hear about the bad people

  2. Mike says:

That man has a special place reserved in heaven for that… and I dont believe in heaven. Good on him.. Good him….

  3. JJES says:

    This shouldn’t be unusual.

    • Susan says:

No it shouldn’t be unusual. Isn’t that a crosswalk she’s on? Aren’t all vehicles supposed to STOP for pedestrians at a crosswalk? Or is that only sometimes in some countries, when you feel like it? I can’t believe all those cars drove straight through a crosswalk with a little old lady in the middle of the road!!! WTF world WTF

What has happened to my internet?

  6. Kathy P. says:

What exactly was wrong with that woman that she couldn’t walk and drag her bag the rest of the way across the street by herself? That was just bizarre that a guy had to get out of his car and move her out of the middle of the road. The cars were yielding to her… Just weird. Nice guy, but what happens when the lady decides she doesn’t like the other side of the street after all?

    • Todd says:

No, Willow Kidd – your internet seems to be working just fine… ^^^^^^^

    • Cheesy says:

      You are an ass.

    • CuriousL says:

The world is going too fast for our elders, it’s intimidating and daunting for some. Life was less hectic and frenzied back in her stronger days. In the meantime, she is less steady on her feet than ever before, and she needs a cane to walk, perhaps losing strength and vigor, and we have no idea how that might feel from the perspective of living in bodies that are still young and strong. She would probably love if someone in her family had time to walk with her. She is proud, so she keeps walking, rather than giving up and stayng in bed. She is vulnerable, and it is our responsibility as human citizens to look out for her, to keep her safe. Please have compassion for our elders.

  7. You're the problem says:

All I can say is wow. I hope you don’t need a hand anytime soon….or EVER for that matter! You’re an idiot & a small piece of the puzzle in what makes this world as screwed up as it is. It shouldn’t matterWHY she needed help, the point is that she did. And bless this sweet man for doing what he did.

My world is all off kilter now.

  10. Jean says:

The police in my town would have had a field day writing tickets to all those cars that continued to a) speed pass on the right and b) denied pedestrian the right to cross using a MARKED crosswalk. Are we all so busy getting to wherever the heck it is we’re going that we can’t notice a senior citizen who is obviously afraid to cross that busy street??? Kathy P, you can see her face change when she gets halfway across and realizes the ‘Indianapolis 500′ is going on in the RH lane. A big round of applause for that lovely man who stopped and helped!

  11. Pam says:

I once stopped at a walk way for a little old lady and everyone else was zipping by. This was SPEEDWAY in Tucson, Arizona, one of the busiest streets in town. I put my car in park, got out, took the lady by the hand and walked her across 5 lanes of busy traffic, just holding up my hand and making them stop!
I got back in my car and felt GREAT for the rest of the day with a smile on my face and a shivver in my heart!

  12. Cheesy says:

Good for you Pam, and good for the guy that helped the L.O.L.
Displays of human kindness are regrettably rare these days. It’s great to see humanity in action.
By the way, in case it wasn’t clear, the “You are an ass” was for Kathy P. – You’re going to get old one day, I hope you remember your comment when you’re crossing a busy street.

  13. Marci says:

Didn’t we have a video on here a week or so ago where people tried to help an old lady across the street and she beat the crap out of them? Yeah…

  14. Dennis says:

I witnessed a similar situation on a very busy street in Atlanta.
The timing on the walk/no walk sign was not sufficient for her to make it through the intersection, and she was in the middle of the street with cars zooming past her from both directions. A young lady ran out into the middle of the street, took the older woman’s hand, and pulled her out of harm’s way while three gentlemen just stood and watched. I was a considerable distance from the intersection and could not get to her in time. Luckily, the young lady had the compassion to sacrifice her own safety, and do the right thing.
There are good and bad people everywhere.

  15. Diana T says:

It’s awesome that this man got out and helped her. But I guess my question is, why didn’t the cop with the dash cam get out and help!??? The motto is protect and serve. Not much service going on there from the cop.

    • Marci says:

How do you know it was a cop? This video is also from Russia (or maybe the Ukraine, couldn’t tell) and we’ve already discussed that many people have dash cams for insurance purposes.

  16. Vicky T says:

Glad the guy stopped to help her BUT my question is: Why didn’t the person with the dashcam get out and help? He/she apparently just sat there waiting for someone else to stop and get out of their car to help. Maybe they were too busy eating those donuts to get out of the cop car.
