You sign the form and somewhere in between you charitably giving your organ to a needy person and them receiving it there is a person who makes thousands.
Best advice for people outside of the sane and sensible National Health Service ( As practiced in Britain, Canada and Australia )is apparently to hang on to them and let your survivors trade them off against the bills.
Come on America wake up. It is not such a difficult concept. Everyone pays for all the health care everywhere. The hospitals are government run non profit institutions. Those that want to pay more have Bupa etc.
There’s nothing leftie or Communist about it.
Wake up and smell the coffee.
In the U.S., Medicare (Federal Gov’t) pays for patients to have transplants if they do not have insurance and are poor enough. The organ donation system is non-profit, so no one is selling the kidneys and running off rich. Yes, doctors get paid to recover the organs, but I think that happens anywhere in the world – no one is expected to work for free.
So, is the <3 missing because of lack of donation? is that why this is funny?
The heart is missing because it was donated.
You can buy that shirt here: http://skreened.com/inktees/i-organ-donation. It’s been one of my favorites from Skreened for awhile.
He already donated his heart. Lol.

Thinking “organ donation” is more than a bit misunderstood here.
