That’s kinda doucheb-ish.
It’s funny because apparently winning first is the only thing worth getting excited about. Second place only deserves a golf clap. I realize the bar has been raised because of his previous domination but most parents would be just as excited as she first appeared if their child made it to the olympics at ALL, much less got silver.

Haha. That’s excellent. I love the fact that the woman on the left has to whisper the word “second” before the mother realises it. Also very dignified clapping afterwards!
I don’t think it’s that she’s unimpressed by second, but that she is both disappointed FOR him, and also trying to be polite for the winner. Or maybe that’s just the way I would be.
