Viking battle reenactment [7 pictures]
1,000 years ago, the Vikings invaded the northwest of Spain. This is commemorated by the Spanish in Catoira every August with a muddy battle reenactment…

Afterward, they sit down to a happy picnic with plenty of wine and local seafood.

Excellent! I’m moving to Aberdeen in January, from which there’s a direct flight to the Shetland Isles, where they celebrate a light festival called Up-Helly-Aa – including Vikings and burning drakkar http://www.uphellyaa.org/
You know they have never actually found a Viking helmet with horns? Thought that was kinda funny all things considered :)
That’s because they’re a really bad idea for hand-to-hand combat – it’s like handle for beheading. But they look scary…thank Wagner.
Hot Viking woman holding the sword in the second picture, but she has shaved armpits…don’t think the vikings did that…but she is hot.
I wanna play swordfighting in the mud… *pout*
North West Spain actually.
Oops. Fixed. Thanks!
