Men’s high jump gold medalist trying to compete while drunk in 2008
Yesterday, Russian Ivan Ukhov won the gold medal in men’s high jump….

He must have cleaned up his act over the last few years (or at least learned to time his drinking more strategically), because in 2008, he was issued a “strong warning” by the IAAF for competing while intoxicated.
Here’s the “jump” that got him in trouble…

So this guy gets a “stiff warning” for being drunk at the Olympics, and an American Judo fighter gets expelled for having marijuana in his system (supposedly not intentionally consumed). What’s wrong with this picture?
The Drunk Jump above was not in the Olympics, Alex. Unlucky to get disqualified for taking dope though (which is never intentionally consumed by anyone famous is it?) A bit of smoke is hardly a performance enhancer – least of all for Judo! I could watch this clip all night if the real Olympics weren’t on…
Sure, you’re right Paul. Michael Phelps must have lung cancer on the horizon. Good thing you dont need to use your lungs while swimming, huh?
Sure, you’re wrong steph. Michael Phelps won’t get lung cancer because he wisely smokes pot and not tobacco. Mary Jane doesn’t cause cancer, in fact it has many health benefits. Although I doubt it does much to enhance your swimming performance.
I love it! He actually sort of looks like he thinks he might clear it! Should have pushed off a little more maybe… wow, this landing pad is SO comfortable – spinning too much though!!
It probably just looked like a giant pillow!
