I seriously doubt that those are of the same animal, as any picture of a baby tiger that I’ve ever seen still looks “tiger-ey”.

Amen. While the first picture is adorable as all hell, it’s kind of obvious that it’s not a tiger, and likely a domestic cat or a small wildcat. Both are great pictures, though.
Good thing we got some tiger experts.
