Kid sings along with Bryan Adams, creates nth level of awkwardness

At first you’ll think this performance is the most awkward thing possible, but then the song will end and you’ll realize, no, it can get even worse. But as bad as this is, I’m duly impressed at this kid’s willingness to put it all out there.

He’s got guts…

    Emily better marry this guy.

I have to give the kid credit. How many of us would go in front of a camera to let someone know how we feel about them, especially when we know the other basically doesn’t know we exist and/or may humiliate us instead of returning our feelings? I doubt I would.

  3. Dave says:

I don’t think this is awkward at all. No more awkward than all of those cheesy love scenes in movies most people like anyway. Emily’s a lucky girl to have a guy that would put it all out there. I hope she likes him too.

  4. Daniel says:

I have a feeling he just destroyed any chance he had with Emily.

Poor kid … I hope it was not Emily who posted this on the web for a prank. Emily owes this kid at least a hug :(

  5. Daniel says:

I would have thought Mike the cameraman would have given him some courting advice and saved him the embarrassment.

This is the subplot of a great romantic comedy bomb. One of those cutesy movies that women love and men lament.

I guess if it’s awkward at all, it’s because a lot of us see an image of our younger selves in this guy. I bet most of you had the same thing at one time — the willingness to throw your heart wide open and put all the innocent trust you possess into loving someone who makes you feel like a complete wreck all the time.

The sad part is that soon enough, life will teach him, like it seems to with everyone, that it’s safer to be hard-hearted, jaded, and never put that much of yourself into trusting someone again (especially not where the rest of the world can see it!). I hope I’m wrong. It sucks being a cynical grownup.

Awwwwww. {{{{love-sick kid}}}} She’ll break your heart, but you will never forget her. Good luck.

  9. Josh says:

I think this young man has delivered a uniquely positive message to everyone in his generation; you might not always win, but for the love of god, at least go down swinging. Great job buddy. Hope Emily comes around.

  10. snarky pants says:

    Hey Mikey, she likes it!

(see comment on original youtube page where he writes, “I gave Emily a copy of this before posting it, she liked it, and that is the point.”)

  11. Sheila says:

I’m struggling to find the right words – you got heart kid…you got balls…don’t let life make you cynical…wish I had your courage…I smiled, I had tears in my eyes…more guys should be like you…thanks for sharing.

I love this guy!! He meant it!! Most men don’t have that much feelings in their little toe. It would be the best thing in the world to have men and women to show their love, just like he did! We have a tendency to live in a cloud and not show our love for someone. I hope he and Emily have a wonderfull life together.

  13. some male says:

    just heard they broke up
    tough break kiddo

I can’t wait until they invent paper that you can print videos on. Can you imagine how insanely fun High school yearbooks will be?
