How continents (likely) came to be and how they may look in 100 million years

This video uses paleogeographic images of earth’s history (provided by Northern Arizona University geology professor, Ron Blakey) to show the evolution of our planet’s landmasses over the last 600 million years.

Then at the end, it guesses at how the earth may be structured in 100 million more years…

Here are some screenshots of the possible future…

So we should have ocean front property here in Minneapolis. That’s great!

It manages to do the whole thing without showing New Zealand! If only they had extended their image just a little to the right of Australia they could have squeezed NZ in. Shame they showed how everywhere would look at the end except for Oceania. The Pacific was completely left out of their projections. I wanted to see how much of Australia and New Zealand might be underwater!

the good thing about it is that in 100 millions years none of us will be alive to say, ” i knew this would happen!”, and also this video will probably not be able to be played or retrieved. LOL
