Its how most Moms feel….great picture!!
Not “most moms” Maybe many stay at homes moms. Working Moms are now back to schedules, after school activities and checking homework after a long day at the workplace. Our faces were just as sad as the kid’s.
Actually, as a stay at home mom, this isn’t our family at all. Maybe we should all just stop making statements about other people. My kids love going back to school so they can see their friends. I on the other hand, miss them terribly and it starts the crazy period of schedule re-arrangement, new teachers and fighting about homework. So it’s quite the opposite for us.
Haha, so cute!
See, almost all the mom I know homeschool. So they usually are looking more like the kids on Back to School Day. :)
Amen! As a homeschooling mom, I looked forward to the other kids going back to school, so I could have my own kids back!
They may have taken another photo, much like a friend of mine did, where the mom has a sad face and the kids are jumping for joy. One never knows from 1 posed picture.
I thought the picture was cute and funny.I wish my Mom would of done this when my brother and I were small.
The kids are having a hard time holding their pouty faces. They are just about to crack up. Maybe they don’t really mind going back to school just yet. Give them a few more weeks. Then they won’t have a problem making pouty faces.
Children are such a burden. They’ve been around the house for a WHOLE EIGHT WEEKS NOW! Oh, how we can’t WAIT to get them back in the hands of the government so that they can raise them for us! Drop them off for Before School Care at 6:30 AM, pick them up from After School Care at 6:00 PM. Eat a quick supper, do an hour of homework, off to bed by 8:30 – 9:00 PM! Ugh! That is such a LONG 2.5 – 3 hours when they get home. I wonder if someone would want to have a sleepover with them at their house this weekend????
I’m with Snarky Pete. We home school our children and I stay at home with them 24/7. Sometimes I go grocery shopping by myself and actually miss them while I am away! So the idea of putting my littles into the hands of complete strangers on the government payroll not only sounds sad to me but strange as well. If I saw my mother happily shoving me into the arms of an institution I assume I would feel worthless and like a hassle. If you do not enjoy being around your children, then something needs to change.
That’s interesting. I’m not judging your choices, but you are an anomaly. A universal of human history and culture is that children are raised not only by the parents, but by the community – extended family, clan groups – which in developed countries have been partly replaced by “government institutions” when it comes to education.
The idea of a parent being with their child 24/7 is not the human norm. If you’re suggesting that the people who don’t desire that need to change, I think you’re really out of line.
I’m a stay at home mom and love being with my kids, but every mother should have a break to do things that aren’t all about the children. How are your children going to grow up to be independent? And when your children leave home, what are you going to do with yourself?? You need to get a life and stop smothering your kids. I’m sure if they don’t now, once they are a little older they aren’t going to want you with them 24/7. That is natural and healthy. Do you and your husband ever go anywhere alone? Do you have a life outside of your children. Many people who don’t end up divorcing when the children leave home because that was all their life was about. They don’t know how to be a couple outside of parents. I don’t know if you are a Christian or not, but if you are you should know that the order of things is God, Spouse then children…
I think I’ve about given up on this site. People take things way to seriously.
Marci, don’t give up on the site, just the narcissistic comments.
Wait. Was that about me? Someone of my stature should not deal with such insults.
Too funny, but people need to seriously lighten up and realize that this is supposed to be a joke. You can have the thoughts you do about how your children are educated, but lighten up and chuckle at how true this is for A LOT of moms (not all). Just because you disagree with it doesn’t mean there’s no truth to it whatsoever.
The oldest girl cracks me up with how hard she’s trying to keep from laughing.
get over it – it is just a fun image depicting the return of school. people need to lighten up and not look so deeply into what is not there. the image was taken with an open heart – and besides it is nice to have a break from the kiddos but it does not mean they are any less loved.
I like Violet’s name-necklace! Violet is such a pretty name.
This photo was taken to be funny. You guys who are taking this so seriously and acting like she is some horrible mother excited to get rid of her kids need to calm down. If you are this serious and critical about everything I’m sure your kids ARE excited to be free of you now that summer is over.
Yeesh, you guys are totally on the wrong site! This. Is. A. Funny.
oddly enough my first thought was ‘birth control’…
