I hope this kid’s answer wasn’t marked wrong
Granted, the third answer on this worksheet breaks the pattern implied by the other responses, but unless the instructions were to come up with a 3-letter word that has a short-A sound, then I hope it wasn’t marked incorrect…

hahaha
Well, he did spell it right…
Agreed. Give him extra credit.
I would have given anything to see the face of the teacher when she saw that.
Not sure what it’s SUPPOSED to be?
lap?
That makes sense
Well he did get it right…but it’s not a word with an “a” as the others.
so what is it? chair?
I like how he capitalized it.
Weren’t sigh…..
It would only be ‘weren’t’ if ‘answer’ was plural. Take out the contraction and replace it with the full words. “I hope this kid’s answer was not marked wrong” or “I hope this kid’s answer were not marked wrong.”
I think it was supposed to be sit, but all the others look like nouns. Naturally the kid is going to think of a thing and not an action
I’d say lap, all the other words are short ‘a’ sound words.
Lap?? He was anatomically correct–yeah for mom and dad. The teacher had a belly laugh that’s for sure! One for the Retirement party, right! :D
If I were the teacher I don’t think I’d be able to insist on the conformism and indoctrination implied, but still would want the kid to know the EXPECTED answer and understand the intended rules and pattern. So I’d mark it:
Your answer is spelled correctly and is a correct answer. But I wanted an “a” sound. Half credit!
