Obama hoisted off the ground in a big bear hug by a Florida pizza shop owner
Yesterday, Scott Van Duzer, owner of Big Apple Pizza in Florida, was so excited to meet the president he couldn’t resist giving him a big, old bear hug. For a brief moment, surprised members of Obama’s staff — including, no doubt, some chagrined Secret Service agents — and Obama himself were powerless before a very happy, 6’3″, 260-pound small business owner.

(And if you’re curious about the guy’s sweaty attire, the explanation is that he only received notice that the president was coming to his restaurant 40 minutes before the fact and rushed there straight from the golf course.)

Wait, I’m confused – who rushed straight from the golf course, the restaurant owner, or Obama?
The restaurant owner.
Touche, CG.
Mr. Van Duzer seems really happy to see the guy who helped him build his business.
Sarcasm right?
He must have missed Obama’s speech a couple months ago… and all the press it got the following weeks. If a crazy happy guy got that close to him, I’d hate to think what a crazy guy only pretending to be happy could do.
What speech is he supposed to have missed that would make him dislike your President?
I was referring to Lee’s comment about “the guy who helped him build his business.” I am guessing you are not in the US, Obama made a speech awhile back where he said, “If you’ve got a business- you didn’t build that.” It sounded like Obama was taking credit for everyone else’s hard work and it pissed off a lot of people in this country. I read the speech, and I understand he was trying to say that we all worked together to build this country and we often build on others’ successes- but he could have worded that part a bit differently. It sounded like he was trying to steal the credit for any of the success these business owners had.
Obama made a speech awhile back where he said, “If you’ve got a business- you didn’t build that.”
I’ve heard that one. And that’s not what Obama said, at all. And you need to be monumentally dishonest to claim he did, “our campaign won’t be run by fact-checkers”-level dishonest. “Bearing false witness against thy neighbour”-level dishonest.
It sounded like Obama was taking credit for everyone else’s hard work
No, it didn’t, because at no point was *he* taking credit. He was pointing out that there’s massive infrastructure involved in supporting everyone, and “you didn’t build that [massive infrastructure]“. Which, of course, is clear if you listen to the speech, or read it, and not just the quote-mined misleading hack job of a lie that Romney is spouting.
It sounded like he was trying to steal the credit for any of the success these business owners had.
” If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.
The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together.”
No, it doesn’t sound like that at all. Not only is he clearly not saying that business owners did nothing (only that they had help, which they did) and at NO POINT is he suggesting that he was the one who helped or who deserved credit.
[Joke about Obama squeezing the life out of small business owners.]
Nailed it.
What the media forgot to mention is that Scott Van Duzer reportedly visited the White House in July. So the visit to Scott’s business was not so random.
Reported by the TCPalm
Correction–not the TCPalm it was the Gatewaypundit

The whole thing was probably staged. The Secret Service would never let anyone grab the president unexpectedly.
Our POTUS really does have the best genuine smile ever.
:D I agree! ♥
I don’t see a single pizza on any of those tables in the pizza restaurant….that’s how bad our economy is.
The old couple in the third photo have a pizza. The only other table in any of the pictures is the one with the press at it – and they’ve just arrived, with the President. So their pizza hasn’t arrived yet.
(which is to say: No, really, what?)
No way! Is that the “really excited to meet the president” guy?!?! (second picture – right side)

Maybe they’re friends….
