Oil paintings on pennies [8 pictures]
Artist Jacqueline Lou Skaggs has created a series of paintings on old pennies…

After looking at these blown-up images, it’s easy to forget how small we’re talking about. This last photo should put things back in perspective…

A wheat sheaf penny?!?!?!
exactly what I thought too!
Amazing.
These are spectacular. I wonder, though, how hard it would be to view them in their frames, hanging on the wall. Looks like everyone would have to stoop close, like the lady in the last picture.
P.S. – “Wheat-back” pennines, as my dad used to call them, are only collectible and/or valuable if there’s no letter under the date on the front (most commonly “D”).
The only other letter that would be under the date would be a “P” did you not learn anything in American History?
Um, Anita, the only letters under the dates are D for Denver and S for San Francisco. And I’m not even American!
I always check the dates on American wheat sheaf pennies – they may not be collectible or valuable in the coin world, but I like finding (and keeping) older coins. And we don’t know what the dates was on this one.
Now here is someone with way too much free time!
As an artist who also does work on coins, it isn’t free time. It’s work.
if you think these were amazing(true)anyone seen these,http://designersblock.blogspot.co.uk/2007/05/through-eye-of-needle.html m
