Oh, I saw this video a few months ago. I’m not much of a Disney fan, but they do make some pretty good music. Also, the guy who sang Aladdin’s voice, Brad Kane, was only 16 at the time. Pretty cool.

I wasn’t allowed to watch Aladdin as a kid and still haven’t seen it. My wife considers this a movie sin. She hasn’t seen The Sound of Music so I think we’re even in our respective “movie classics resume” holes.

You haven’t seen a film that espouses the idea that you can be whatever you want to be and love whomever you choose, regardless of what soul-crushing numbness your family and society is pushing you towards?

      Figures.

It seems like only yesterday… my son had the Aladdin figures from McDonalds; he carried Jasmine around so long that her feet eventually broke off. She really needed that carpet then! But he’s grown now and probably doesn’t even remember…

lea salonga was the original “miss saigon” and was “eponine” in the broadway production as well as the 10th anniversary dreamcast concert of les mis.

incredible voice… been a favorite of mine for years…

  5. Mary says:

For a clip attempting to demonstrate the magic of music and voice….it’s lamentable that the voice track doesn’t sync up with the singers. Sort of destroys the very point it’s trying to prove.
