Extraordinary behind-the-scenes mini-documentary for “Les Miserables”

This Christmas a new cinematic take on Les Miserables is coming out. All signs point to absolute spectacularity.

In most musicals that are made into movies, the actors pre-record their songs, then lip-sync those tracks as they act, but that’s not how this movie was made. In this short making-of documentary, the main players from Les Miserables discuss the advantages of singing the musical live while acting…

(On a side note — assuming that Russell Crowe will live for another 30 years or so, imagine how deep his voice is going to get…)

I really, really, really want this to be good. Hoping Hathaway doesn’t do what Hathaway always does, which is suck.

This looks so great, could it be “The Sound of Music” of the early 21st century. I know I am going to see it when it first hits. Wonder how it would be on IMAX. Can’t wait, now have a reason to look forward to Christmas.

Waiting for the inevitable mashup of this and Batman.

Looking forward to seeing this, but just listening to the clip, Anne Hathaway definitely does NOT live up to the voice needed for Fantine. Sorry. Sometimes you don’t need to hire known actors to sell a film.
