Sheepdog bottle feeds motherless lambs [6 pictures]

Since she was just a pup, this English Springer Spaniel has been helping her owner Louise Moorhouse on her 180-acre farm in Devon, England. Currently, Moorhouse has 270 sheep, four of whom are lambs who, for various reasons, aren’t being fed by their mothers.
This is no problem with Jess around.
One of her duties since she was small, along with herding and other odd jobs…

…has been to take the place of mama during feeding time for orphaned lambs…

As you can imagine, Moorhouse says she doesn’t know how she’d get along without her dog.
And the sheep seem to agree…

That is soooo sweet! And the scenery is beautiful! I love the 4th picture.
Oh my goodness!!! What a beautiful dog!! I want one!! Sigh…
What a great dog! Those are some lucky sheep and lambs.
And to think people eat those little cuties
What a brilliant set up. These intelligent dogs just love to interact with humans and extending to help out even more with the herd is great round a busy farm. Springers, like border collies, though, are manic when not sufficiently busy and stimulated, so don’t get carried away into getting one unless you are prepared to keep it busy!
