Incredible photos of brown bears fishing in the Russian wilderness [9 pictures]

For weeks, Czech photographer Petr Slavik followed a group of Brown bears on the Kamchatka Peninsula in the far east of Russia. Here they are enjoying the plenitude of salmon during the fish’s spawning season in Kurile Lake.

First these remarkable creatures wait and watch…

Then they go for it, lunging as if dinner depends on it…

Sometimes they come up empty-handed…

But then…SUCCESS!
