That’s so true, and I can see the beauty in it. I just couldn’t ignore that the photo was shared by Israel Defense Forces, simply to establish a good image and other similar reasons.
What makes them different from Americans? These guys are out serving and dying for their country the same as our boys. They miss their families just as desperately as ours. In short, they are as human as we. Why is it so different? Why should we not get the warm fuzzies for them as much as for our own?
Wow. I thought we moved past antisemitism 70 years ago but guess not. I must have missed the memo where it’s okay to hate on the Jews but it’s not okay to speak ill of their peaceful and non-radical Arab neighbors.
I see. I didn’t understand the “sarcastic” comment at all and I took the one by Jaye Gallagher, especially in light of his later clarification, to mean that he was wary of military propaganda. Thank you for answering.
‘Hating on the Israelis’ is very different to being anti-Semitic. I can dislike Israel’s political motives and actions as much as I like without being anti-Semitic in ANY way.
(Sorry to get political, but Andrew’s comment is v antagonising.)
Awwwwwwwwwwe!
I hate it when people cut onions while I’m online.
Meh…It doesn’t give me “the feel” when it’s a soldier, an Israeli one in particular.
You’re an idiot. What is your problem here?
@ Gallagher. An expression of love is beautiful no matter who’s giving it.

You have an ugly soul.
Very ugly soul.

Kudos to jaye gallagher.
Uh-oh Abraham…your humanizing soldiers, and Israeli soldiers at that!…how very (doubly!) un-pc of you.
But, on a personal note:
What a great picture! As the dad of a little girl I especially love this pic!
It’s his little brother running up to him after a hike that soldiers do to earn their beret. This soldier is probably 18/19 year old.
ohhh….this is so touching (for real). it’s amazing to see that no matter what any one says, Israelis are people, just like us (sarcastic)

I might be missing something. Which comment is anti-semitic? I’m truly asking, not be snotty.
“…Israelis are people, just like us (sarcastic)” or “doesn’t give me “the feel” when it’s a soldier, an Israeli one in particular.”

I love the looks on the other soldiers’ faces. Lots of “awwwwwwwwwww”!
