Rescued baby dormice eating berries, prepping for hibernation [8 pictures]

These little dormice are being taken care of at Secret World Animal Rescue Centre after being found last month squeaking in a garden hedge without their mother. The animal shelter’s founder Pauline Kidner says,

“They are being fed on honeysuckle, blackberries and chopped nuts and if their weight reaches 40g before winter, then we will release them back into the wild, but if not then we’ll look after them for release in the spring.
