Lifelike animals formed with wood shavings [15 pictures]

High school teacher and artist Sergey Bobkov spends hundreds of hours per sculpture simulating feathers and fur with wood chips and shavings and then meticulously arranges them to form remarkably animated replicas of his favorite animals.

His work is naturally compared to taxidermy from time to time, but he says, “These things differ like the darkness and the light. It is death there; here it is life.”
