   Wow. Compare that to our current President’s standard. You think they even blink over spending a few thousand tax dollars to be more comfortable?

     No, spending has gone down, and defense spending has remained about flat, for the past 4 years. Also consider what $5,000 meant in 1961 versus today.

   This was meant to be a maternity suite for Mrs. Kennedy. Sadly, their son was prematurely born less than a month later (in August) and died within 2 days. Mr. Kennedy himself was assassinated in November.

   Mrs. Kennedy’s annus horribilis.
