I’m seeing $5.24… Looks pretty intentional to me.
No, no. Original, look at the “Was” line. I see 5.24 too, but on the other sticker. The original price was definitely $6.29.

I’m thinking it cost 5.24 originally, but then put another sticker over it which says it “was” 6.29 and now is half off. so that it seems that it was more expensive before. perhaps the 3.14 price is intentional after all
