Creatively insulting Valentine cards, 1840′s – 1950′s [10 pictures]
Beginning in the 1840′s and continuing into the middle of last century, “Vinegar Valentines” made it possible for people to send their anti-love messages by anonymous postcard to whoever they wanted. Some were intended to put a stop to any potential romance, and others were simply ways to remind people in day-to-day life that somebody out there really didn’t like them…
