Sharp-shooting cop frees two tangled bucks by firing his pistol at their antlers
Recently the Illinois DNR Conservation Police posted a video of several officers trying to help a couple bucks who had been fighting and gotten stuck together. They decided to try shooting them apart, and it worked…

Bullets are faster. By the time they could have radioed animal control and had the tranquilizer gun there, one or both could have died, and most certainly have been injured.
Also he shot the friggin antlers apart, which is pretty cool.
By the way the deer could not run straight, I’m thinking the high powered shot probably broke the deer’s skull.
Bucks regrow their antlers every year, so, no harm done.
Unless the antler broke off inside the skull, which appears likely.

I’m surprised some NRA nut didn’t run up with a fully automatic assault rifle and go “hunting”, since they’re such easy targets, he’d probably still find the shot difficult :-P
