Baserunner punches second baseman in the face, bench-clearing brawl results
Usually fights include some sort of ramping up — some in-your-face yelling, a couple of pushes maybe. But not this one. During a game on Friday, UC Riverside’s Eddie Young didn’t like the way Sacramento State’s Andrew Ayers treated him as he was running bases, so he did what any unhappy sportsman would do, right? He walked up and punched Ayers in the face. Things devolved from there, of course…

Second baseman took it like a boss.
Seriously, he took it like a friggin tree.
yes. that display of “stud” is second only to 40 – something nolan ryan owning robin ventura…
Both players ejected? That’s absurd.
But seriously, that guy got decked hard with the dominant-hand swing and barely budged. Boss.
Runner was dirty all the way around. He tried to hold the glove to keep the other runner from getting doubled up, it appears. On a second look though, it appears that he actually slapped the second baseman, which is sort of a silly thing to do.
Why is this on 22 Words? First lame post.
At first I was going to be all What?! and offended, but then I realized calling this the first lame post is very nice of you. I could think of dozens… ;)
Seriously, though, I’m not sure what the problem is. Certainly didn’t mean to offend…
How is it lame? It’s just a little something from the internet meant to entertain you for a bit…. just like everything else. There are already 8 comments on it and it’s only been up a few hours at most so other people obviously like it.
I’d jump in the pile and start tickling people like crazy…
I would have just tickled the 2nd baseman to begin with, instead of hitting him.
A non-profit that teaches sportsmanship is the most ridiculous first-world problem “solution” I’ve ever heard in my life. I want off this planet.
That’s not a very sportsman-like attitude.

Nice punch Tinkerbell! Yet another tragic manifestation of a fatherless society, college ball players who punch like jr high school girls.
