Five-year-old, Timmy Nelson, is getting the ONLY thing he wanted this Valentine's Day...
Recently, little Timmy and his family received some soul-crushing news.
Doctors diagnosed a tumor on the roof of his mouth as Rhabdomyosarcoma…an aggressive childhood cancer.
Timmy and his family’s next nine months to a year will consist of grueling trips to and from the hospital.
To best care for her son in his time of need, Timmy’s mom, Cassandra, had to drop out of her Ohio University-Chillicothe Early Childhood Education classes.
Classmates and faculty, though, didn’t want all of these drastic changes to sour Timmy’s Valentine’s Day memories.
So the group set one incredible goal...
...to collect Timmy 1,000 Valentines!

“I thought, ‘He is going to miss his Valentine’s (Day) party,'” Assistant Professor in the Early Childhood Program at Ohio University-Chillicothe, Jamie Harmount explained, “who doesn’t remember that?”
“You know, the box, the Valentine’s cards, the cupcakes, the little hearts…and I said we are going to do a Valentine drive.”
Ever since the drive launched, folks from all over Ohio have been sending Timmy Valentines.

“Now, I truly believe we are going to see at least 2,000 if not more and that to me shows the goodness of people.”
Family members have also launched a GoFundMe campaign, to raise money to cover some of Timmy’s family’s living expenses during this trying time.
Thanks to his community's beautiful support, little Timmy's Valentine's Day will still be full of love, love, love.
