f you want to see what both sides of a great friendship look like, just check out the pics below of an awesome, good-natured prank. Not only do get to experience the humor in a dude tricking his buddy into thinking a christening was a costume party, but we see the buddy (with a heart of gold, clearly) stick through the whole event, unable to keep from laughing at himself.
Quotes below are taken from the prankster, Imgur user Surgas, as he posted them on the site, documenting the wonderfully wicked prank.
As you can see, the prank victim is NOT hard to spot, dressed up like a crusading knight amid all the people who...aren't.
“How this evil plan was carried out.. Three weeks before the party we where hanging out at my place and at some point out of the blue I said: “by the way the christening party is gonna be different.. It will be a costume party!”
For better or worse, his girlfriend was in attendance as well. She MIGHT be more embarrassed than he is.
“I had an Ipad in my lap and I started to search for cool costumes. We had some great laughs and talked about going as Rocksteady and Bebob.”
(Rocksteady and Bebop are these two hooligans from the Ninja Turtles universe.)
Oh, and you’ll notice the GF is looking away. That’s not JUST because she’s embarrassed by her date. According to the prankster, “Actually she was a cat, but she’d only painted whiskers on her face. A quick wipe of and he was all alone :)”
Perfection. It’s a little harder to “wipe away” his outfit.
The prankster didn't think he was going to get away with the ruse, but he lucked out.
“At this point I was actually sure he had figured out the scam but hey, we had fun. He went home and I did not think more of it.”
It’s easy to get skeptical about pulling a trick on someone, but every once in a while…things work out just as you’d hope!
By the time the "costume party" was drawing close, the victim had clearly played into the trap.
“2 weeks later he suddenly texted me that he had found the PERFECT outfit and asked if I had a plastic sword he could borrow.. what the… I answered: sorry I do not have a plastic sword, looking forward to see your outfit.”
I bet he was!
But the prankster, remaining cautious, refused to believe that his friend's participation...costume and all...was a done deal.
“Even at this point, 2 weeks later! I actually thought he was just playing along with the joke. I guess I was wrong.”
Oh, these pics provide all the proof a person could ever need that the sucker fell for it.
