    That cat can’t looked down and think “Oh no! I better not get up there because if I fall it’s a 40 story drop!” The cats owner needs to be shot.

    Cats like high places, but you don’t usually find them at the very top of 40+ ft trees. Tree bark provides a much better grip than concrete or metal, and there generally isn’t much in a tree that can startle the cat and make it jump/bolt. Also, in a tree there are a lot of branches to grab on the way down so the cat doesn’t hit the ground.
