Catroulette — Using Chatroulette-style site to find homes for cats

Oct 15, 2012 By Abraham 4

Various animal shelters around Belgium have joined forces to find homes for their adoptable cats using a creative knock-off of Chatroulette…

At their site Catroulette, you can watch clips of cats that need homes. Click Next if you’re not interested, but if you want to learn more, click Adopt.

Of course, most of us aren’t in Belgium, but it’s still kind of fun to check out.

I can’t watch anymore. That’s not fun, that’s sad. There’s one kitty that’s been passed over 11,000 times! Poor thing….

    Hi Amy,
I suggested this for 22 words, and I can assure you, it was not because I thought it was “funny”. The whole point is that it’s a really innovative way to bring these cats into people’s consciousness and maybe if this idea gets publicity, more cats in shelters will be seen by people and therefore possibly adopted. All of these animals are in those shelters anyway – at least thousands of people saw this kitty who would otherwise have been only seen by the odd person going to the shelter themselves.
    Cheers,
    Mat
