ne fender bender can ruin your day, but what happens when you multiply that by a factor of twenty-two? A driver, with passenger in tow, lost control on a late night drive down a main road in Hewas Water, Cornwall. A line of 22 used cars were seemingly demolished by the driver.
The male driver was taken to the hospital with critical injuries. And sadly, the woman in the passenger seat died on site.
As you’ll see, it was a freak accident that left Andrew Toms Car Sales with a major headache. The main road was shut down for eight hours while the police surveyed the damage and dealt with cleanup.
A neighbor about a mile down the road talked with Cornwall Live, “We got out of bed to go and see what had happened and the sight was horrendous. It’s certainly something I wouldn’t like to see again. The police, ambulance, and fire service were all there The damage to the cars was awful, unbelievable really.”
The neighbor went on to say that the impact sounded like 22 consecutive gunshots.
The Cornwall road is known for accidents due to it’s high speed limit of 50mph. However, the reason for the accident is still unknown.
