We have a naked Caroline Wozniacki.
And shockingly, the men — and even the women subscribers — were not quite as repulsed and disgusted over this one.
Well, they were disgusting, but not disgusted.
“She will no doubt leak a sex tape before ever winning a grand slam.”
Good to know.
So the consensus here is that female nudity is 100 percent okay and accepted on the cover of magazines, but male nudity is something that should be kept to locker rooms where men routinely see each other showering and when they’re getting it on with all the hot chicks they talk about smashing.
Now granted I get that the majority of their subscribers are male, so seeing a naked dude probably isn't high on their list of priorities.
But it does speak to a double standard that isn’t limited to ESPN the Magazine.
Look at any magazine stand and I can tell you that there are many more half-naked women than half-naked men, and being a woman myself, I'm not disgusted by either physical form.
I am disgusted by the objectification that these magazines often employ, not to mention the reactions they get — see this whole post for an example — and the fact that Zeke Elliot was alleged to have assaulted his girlfriend and also exposed the breasts of a woman at a St. Patrick’s Day party.
But I guess the guys weren’t disgusted by that.
