Weather can mean to withstand and stay strong: I weathered the storm.
It can also mean to be worn out and eroded: The confusion this list is causing is turning me into a weathered old woman.
Seed can mean both adding and taking away. You seed a lawn — add seeds to the lawn. But you seed a tomato — remove seeds from a tomato. Don’t know why you’d do that though. Tomato seeds are so slimy and fun to roll around in your mouth.
You can screen or show a movie, or you can screen, or hide the sunlight from your eyes.
You can also look at a screen, screen your calls, and wear sunscreen. Is it just me or does “screen” not even sound like a word anymore?
You can help me with this one. But I can’t help but think it’s more complicated than we think.
Wait… So you can help or “assist” me…unless I think it’s too complicated…in which case “help” means to prevent. UGH this is really getting to be too much.
Clip a bunch of papers together, or clip — and separate — your hair from your head.
Or get into a staring contest with a smug digital paper clip with eyes. Totally not what I’m doing right now. I just meant you could if you wanted to.
