Groom’s middle-school love letter on display at couple’s wedding

December 4, 2012 | By Abraham | 19 comments

Florida couple Cathy and Trevor were recently married in Pensacola. On display at their reception was a note that Trevor had secretly passed to Cathy in 1990…

She met him in the hall like he asked and he got his middle-school wish…but only for 2 weeks. When she broke up with him and gave the ring back that he’d bought her, he was so mad he threw it away. Little did he know that in just 20 years they’d be back together.

Did she marry Brad first? I think not, the coolest part, she saved the note!! Trevor’s dumb moment, he didn’t save the ring. she’ll probably never really forgive him for that one. she wore it, a part of her is a part of it. could be some nice make up moments later for them though.

Um…he threw away the ring he got her 2 WEEKS after they started going out. I don’t see any indication that she married Brad. Don’t they do reading comprehension in school any more?

Question about Brad was legit. 2 weeks is about right for most 6th grade ‘relationships’. Why so snarky with your comment???? Having a bad day? Seriously, loosen up, Paula.

  1. Jean says:

The fact that they still have the note is really sweet! What a great piece of memorabilia to put in the wedding book!!!

I think this is a fake.

    1) you think it was framed at the time she got it as a kid???? I doubt that.
    2) After 20 years the paper goes a bit yellowish
    3) the creases are too crisp.

    Aynone care to refute?

    1) Why would it have to have been framed 20 years ago? She probably had it framed as a wedding day surprise for hubby.
    2) Paper yellows because of interaction with light, so if she kept in a box of personal childhood ‘treasures’ it would not yellow.
    3) Creases will remain if not regularly handled. A love letter from my college girlfriend, also 1990 vintage, was in just as good condition when I got it out of the box after 20 years.
