It's safe to say that most of us will never be able to call ourselves millionaires, and even fewer people in this whole universe can call themselves billionaires. At some point numbers like that just simply boggle the mind and that kind of money is completely inconceivable. Unless you're President Trump.
But according to Bloomberg Billionaires Index, his net worth has dropped from $3 billion last year to $2.9 billion.
This determination is based on figures compiled from lenders, mortgage documents, annual reports, market data, and a new financial disclosure released on June 16.
Sure, that sounds minor, but let it be known the he regularly claimed to be worth more than $10 billion.
That would be $7 billion less than Bloomberg has reported.
According to Bloomberg, this decline can be attributed to a drop in the value of three properties in Manhattan.
The declining value of these properties — 40 Wall Street, Trump Tower, and 1290 Avenue of the Americas — reportedly took $380 million from Trump’s net worth.
According to Newsweek, the Big Apple’s commercial real estate trends are moving toward skyscrapers and modern, innovative buildings.
But not all Trump properties are suffering massive losses: Business at Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s “Winter White House,” is booming ever since he took office and membership rates reportedly rose to more than $200,000 annually.
On that note, nearly 200 Democrats have sued the president, claiming he’s “blatantly” violating the Constitution by not giving up ownership of the Trump organization.
To add insult to injury, the decline in the president’s millions coincides with his continued decline in approval ratings.
A new CBS poll has found his rating has dipped to an all-time low of 36%, due large part to Americans’ negative reaction to his handling of the Russia investigations.
When CBS last polled Trump's job approval rating in late April, his approval rating was 41%.
With all that said, whether you like it or not — and clearly most people don’t — he is still president.
And he’s still worth billions of dollars.
I don’t think he’s going to lose any sleep over any of this.
