Well, not that the Beatles were unique at this humour, but it is a fact that there was once a time where a bunch of people liked to make music, and there was someone around to help them make some money with that. As opposed to a bunch of people who like to make some money and they have someone around to help them make some music for that. In the former case, you’re usually a bit more down to earth and less obsessed by how you come across, which opens up time to listen to what people say, a requirement for quick wit.

Yes, the Beatles were funny, I remember listening to their interviews and they were always so funny. Every young person thought they were the best thing to hit the US since Elvis. Those were some good days, I had just graduated from high school and was dating a boy who looked a lot like Paul. I remember watching their first appearance in the USA on the Ed Sullivan Show at my best friends house and how her Dad couldn’t believe how long their hair was and how they shook their hair. I married that boy who looked like Paul. He passed away in 2005 after 41 years of marriage. ” I Want to Hold Your Hand” was our song.

Yeah, the first three quotes are from a media scene in Hard Day’s Night. They were really funny though. There are a lot of dialogue bits from that film that were unscripted, especially from Lennon.

  4. David says:

“One of the best bands of all time? Try THE best band of all time. What other group comes even remotely close to achieving the worldwide musical and social impact of The Beatles? To catch The Beatles at their wittiest, watch “The Beatles’ First Visit To America” (on DVD), and TV sketch of The Beatles performing Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Nights’ Dream” (on YouTube).
