We all know J.K. Rowling as the mega-bestselling author of the Harry Potter franchise. She's a pop culture legend who transformed the publishing industry and is known for keeping it afloat during trying times. She even has a theme park dedicated to her magical world. If you think about it, J.K. Rowling is one of the most awesome people alive...
But turns out, there's something super common that she can't do, and people found out in the most surprising way possible.
In October, Twitter user @gjscobie posted “Overheard a Harry Potter tour in Edinburgh discussing the very parking meter used by @jk_rowling while writing the Deathly Hallows :-)”
This was very cool and all… Except anyone who’d ever read a Rowling biography knows that she famously came up with the idea for Harry Potter while on a train, and wrote later versions at her house or a hotel.
Of course, someone had to step in and correct him. You'll never guess who it was.
Though @gjscobie had directly addressed Rowling in his tweet, we imagine he was still shocked when she actually replied back. “I can’t drive.” Rowling tweeted. “Never used a parking meter in my life.”
Welp, that’s one way to shut down a theory.
Except, there were others.
Twitter user @ChoopieJrNews chimed in to the news with a timely “she rides the night bus.”
It’s actually spelled Knight Bus, but sure. Rowling undoubtedly uses the Knight Bus, although we’re going to bet that her favorite mode of transportation is the Nimbus 3000.
