They announced that they will not allow customers at 26 of their ice cream stores in Australia to order two scoops of the same flavor in an effort to highlight the lack of marriage equality for Australian LGBTQ+ people.
The company’s statement reads: “We know for a fact that just about any flavour combination can be delicious, as long as there’s love in the mix. And the same goes for people combinations! Ben & Jerry’s cares deeply about social justice, including marriage equality for all. We believe that loving couples of all kinds should be free to marry, no matter what their favourite flavour. Love is love.”

“But this doesn’t even begin to compare to how furious you would be if you were told you were not allowed to marry the person you love. So we are banning two scoops of the same flavor and encouraging our fans to contact their MPs to tell them that the time has come – make marriage equality legal! Love comes in all flavours!”
