Actually, if I remember right, the first Mommy-to-be Barbies didn’t have a ring so there was a HUGE controversy over Barbie supporting premarital sex! I’ve heard if you can find a Mommy-to-be Barbie without a ring, its worth quite a lot.

    1. barbie collector says:

Barbie was never pregnant. It was Barbie’s friend Midge. It wasn’t called mommy-to-be, it was called Midge and baby or something like that. =] circulation was promptly stopped.

i remember being very mad that i hadn’t heard about it before i couldn’t find it anywhere. lameskis..

  2. Aiko says:

I actually had (and probably still have) one of those. Just like the one on the video it isn’t an original (Mattel) Barbie.

  3. Le Dude says:

No shit, a pregnant woman doll! The horror! The schock! The depravity!

Let’s go back to making dolls of hefty dudes that kill other dudes with an arsenal of weaponry.

Seriously, what shocks me is that this was taken off the market. Still Victorians, all of them.

  4. Horace says:

Did it stop being a fetus when the kid popped it out? And what was it when she reloaded it?

  5. Possum says:

So perfectly true it should be adopted as a visual aid by the Texas Textbook Committee for the “Don’t. Ever. Have. Sex. Ever.” class.
