hen dog lovers, Chris and Mariesa, paid the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter a visit, they fell madly in love with a very special pup named Stormie.
And by very special, we mean very pregnant.
Literally full of life, Stormie immediately stole both Chris and Mariesa's hearts.
After spending some quality time with the pup and knowing that shelters can be seriously stressful places for dogs to give birth, Chris and Mariesa knew what they needed to do.
The couple decided to foster Stormie so that she would have a safe place to deliver her bundles of joy in peace.
Then, they got the news…
A quick vet x-ray revealed that TWELVE little puppies were growing in Stormie's belly.
To many, this insane diagnosis would have been cause for alarm.
But not for seasoned dog parents, Chris and Mariesa.
Chris and Mariesa are proud parents of their own gaggle of eight rescue dogs. Their familial mayhem is all documented in their awesome YouTube series, Life in the Doghouse.
These two have seriously huge hearts. All proceeds from their YouTube show go to helping pay vet bills for other rescue dogs, in the hope that those dogs will then become more adoptable.
To help Stormie, though, these two took a more hands-on approach.
Just eighteen hours after this animal loving couple pulled Stormie from the shelter and set her up in their home, she went into labor.
After two-weeks time, each of the twelve pups began opening their eyes and letting their little personalities out to play.
While Chris and Mariesa seriously considered keeping one, maybe two, of the pups, in the end they chose to let their new little friends go.
Once everyone was out, safe and sound, the twelve new puppies were fostered through Pibbles and More Animal Rescue. They all found new forever homes.
Mom Stormie found her own forever home with Chris’s best friend, Ryan.
Chris and Mariesa's shared passion for dogs is seriously heartwarming.
Of their mission, Mariesa explains, “it gives our relationship so much more depth and meaning.”
“To share with someone something you’re so passionate about and have them accept it and thrive on it is so rare and so incredible.”

So many snuggling puppies!
I think we just found nirvana.
