urns out the Royal Family is just like us—scheduling conflicts and all. Off the tails of Princess Eugenie’s engagement to Jack Brooksbank, the pair are having to push their wedding back to accommodate other royals’ schedules. Eugenie and Jack had reportedly hoped for a September wedding, but Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have foreign tours on their itinerary at that time. What's a royal to do?
Who are these people, anyway?
Princess Eugenie is the cousin of Princes Harry and William—she’s eighth in line for the throne. Eugenie and Jack, a nightclub manager, met while she was at university in 2010, and their engagement was announced on January 22, 2018.
Even Jack’s grandma, Joanna Newton, was surprised by the pairing.
She told the Daily Mail, “I never thought he would get married to a Royal. He’s a charming boy and all that but not the most intelligent and I would never have thought this would happen.” Ouch.
Now, after seven years of dating, Jack and Eugenie are said to be eager to tie the knot at last.
Conflicts with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s schedules have caused them to push back the big day.
Eugenie and Jack reportedly told the Royal Family that they would like a September wedding, but it turns out that getting everyone’s schedules to line up is harder than you might think.
After Harry and Meghan’s May 19 nuptials, they’ll be jetting off on foreign tours that will keep them busy all summer long. There’s not a new date yet, but it’s reported that Eugenie and Jack will likely push their wedding back to October. Maybe this will put wedding planning into perspective for us commoners…
But don’t worry — a source says there are no hard feelings between the two couples.
Via the Daily Mail, the source says, “They are fine with it. I don’t think anything will overshadow how deliriously happy they are.” The two pairs are getting married at the same location, St. George’s Chapel in Windsor.
